The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) and the following qualification criteria:
The job offer concerns a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position within an NCN-funded research project 鈥淣etworks of Book Circulation and the Making of Reading Communities in Late Antiquity鈥� led by Dr Marta Szada (m.szada@umk.pl).
Mandatory Requirements:
鈥� A PhD in the humanities awarded no more than 12 years before the date of employment in the project;
鈥� Research experience in at least one of the following fields: Ancient Greek literature, Byzantine literature, the history of Ancient Greece, the Eastern Roman Empire, or Byzantium;
鈥� Very good command of Ancient Greek, enabling independent reading of primary sources in the original language;
鈥� A current and documented record of scholarly achievements, including publications on the history or literature of Ancient Greece, the Eastern Roman Empire, or Byzantium, particularly publications in peer-reviewed international journals and publishing houses;
鈥� International research activity demonstrated through participation in conferences, research stays, fellowships, international research projects, or co-authored publications;
鈥� Very good command of English, both spoken and written. Interviews with shortlisted candidates will be conducted entirely in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
鈥� Knowledge of Latin sufficient to work with primary source materials in that language;
鈥� Knowledge of an additional foreign language;
鈥� Experience in research employing digital humanities methods.
The successful candidate appointed as a Postdoctoral Researcher within an NCN-funded research project 鈥淣etworks of Book Circulation and the Making of Reading Communities in Late Antiquity鈥� led by Dr Marta Szada will conduct research on source materials from the eastern Mediterranean region dating to the period AD 400-600, in accordance with the objectives of the project. The position also involves close cooperation with the Principal Investigator in the analysis and interpretation of research results, as well as in the preparation of scholarly publications and other research outputs.
The project combines traditional philological and historical research with methods drawn from the digital humanities. In the first phase, it will seek to construct a model for structuring research data, knowledge base, to define relationships between people, places, texts, institutions and events recorded, and to test proposed methodological approaches. In the further phases, the project tasks will be to develop datasets, analyse their structure and interpret results with the application of network analysis methods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conducting research in the fields of literary studies or ancient history;
2. Carrying out the research tasks envisaged within the project;
3. Contributing to the development of the project's research data model and the creation of its digital resources;
4. Co-creating datasets, methodological documentation, and project reports;
5. Presenting research findings at international conferences;
6. Preparing scholarly publications in English;
7. Conducting research visits and archival/library inquiries abroad;
8. Performing organizational tasks related to the project.

The appointment of the successful candidate is subject to the National Science Centre entering into a project funding agreement with the 91猎奇 in 罢辞谤耻艅.
