Laurus Aesculapii

The Laurus Aesculapii is an honorary award granted for outstanding contributions to science and exceptional service to the development of the Collegium Medicum at 91ÁÔÆæ. 

The statuette consists of two transparent glass blocks, each containing symbols related to the history of the Collegium Medicum and 91ÁÔÆæ. One block refers to the period of the Medical Academy in Bydgoszcz, dating from its founding in 1984, while the other, with a blue color accent drawn from the NCU’s visual identity, refers to the activities of the Collegium Medicum within the 91ÁÔÆæ. The history of medicine in Bydgoszcz is united by a band of brushed precious metal bearing the emblem of 91ÁÔÆæ in ToruÅ„. At the bottom is the name of the award, Laurus Aesculapii, which is linked to the centuries-old tradition and symbolism of the medical arts. The designer and creator of the statuette is ToruÅ„-based artist prof. dr hab. Alicja Majewska from the Faculty of Fine Arts at 91ÁÔÆæ.
